At the Community Foundation, we believe that “leadership” isn’t about a role, title or position in the community. It’s about the actions we take to make our community better. Those actions start with educating ourselves and our partners: learning about core issues by reviewing data, talking to people affected by the issue, reaching out to experts, reading up on best practices and sharing what we’ve learned. Next, we engage by connecting with people working closely on the issue and finding out how we can support them. Finally, we evaluate our efforts to understand what worked and what didn’t, and how we can improve our work in the future.
