The Giving Tree Endowment and Grant Program

Through our signature Giving Tree Grant Program, ARCF supports a broad range of projects with the potential for statewide impact and programs serving immediate local needs.

Each of our 27 local affiliate offices and our central office in Little Rock have a Giving Tree Endowment from which the Foundation can make timely grants when they can make the most dramatic impact. Each Giving Tree Endowment is permanently invested, providing an ongoing source of funding to meet the changing needs in our communities.

Giving Tree grants are made through a competitive grant process through ARCF's central office in Little Rock and each of our 27 local affiliate offices.

January-February 2011 Grant Cycle
Our next Giving Tree grant cycle opens January 10; the application deadline is February 15. We'll have more information available online in December.

Online Application Process

New this year, the Giving Tree grant application is entirely online. This video shows how the application process works:

When you apply, you'll be asked to provide the following information your project in 5,000 characters or less (total):

1. Background and rationale (describe the challenge, need or opportunity to be addressed and why it was chosen, how the proposed concept was developed, who was involved in the planning)

2. Description of proposal’s concept (describe what will take place, when it will happen, where it will happen, who will make it happen, who will participate, partnering organizations)

3. Anticipated outcomes to be evaluated (describe the changes or improvements you expect to occur, how the changes will address the situation described above; how you plan to determine if expected outcomes did actually occur; and how the change will be measured)

4. Capacity of grantee (brief history of the organization and how it and the project director are qualified to plan and to implement the proposal)

5. Dissemination [if applicable] (if the project could be replicated elsewhere in the state or region describe how the results will be shared at the close of the grant period)

6. Sustainability [if applicable] (describe how the program will be funded after the grant ends)

You'll also need to complete a project budget and list of other donations or financial contributions to the project and provide a list of your board of directors.
