Ouachita Valley Community Foundation has been building philanthropy in Ouachita and Calhoun Counties since 1993.

Today, Ouachita Valley Community Foundation has 30 endowments established and total assets of over $2,000,000.  We are looking forward to continuing to address challenges in the Ouachita and Calhoun County areas, through the funding of grants in the area of social services, education, the arts, disaster relief, youth programs, literacy and local history and through the leadership of our Board of Directors.  Examples include recent grants to such organizations as the Christian Health Center, the local American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs, Camden/Fairview School District METS program, Union Grove Concerned Citizens and the Women's Crisis Center.  Our Board Members are making a difference through their various work places, in our local civic groups, single parent organizations, low-income housing administration, health clinic boards, college boards and Arkansas state commissions. 

One of the grants awarded was jointly to the Boys and Girls Club and the Ouachita Extension 
4-H Office.  Together they developed a program for the summer to maintain and improve the literacy rates of youths ages 9 - 13.  The program takes the youth on an interactive journey through the history of Ouachita County with activiites providing hands on experiences in sustainable agriculture, food preparation, crafts and physically active games that are reflective of different time periods.  The program was very successful and will be expanded next year. 

 Our Foundation will continue to meet our areas challenges through the awarding of grants for social services, education, the arts and local history.
