The Texarkana Area Community Foundation (TACF) is a public charity comprised primarily of permanent funds endowed by many separate donors for the long-term benefit of the communities it serves.  Thirty-two (32) donors have chosen to take advantage of the easy, inexpensive, and flexible advantage of the community foundation to create an endowment that satisfies their long term charitable intent.  As an added benefit, gifts to new and existing funds may qualify for a 10% matching grant from TACF.  To learn more about the matching program, click on the “Funds” icon at the top of the page.

A grant from TACF provided hippo-therapy horseback riding for people with disabilities. Pictured here, volunteers from the Runnin' WJ Ranch administer a riding therapy session.

Communities benefit greatly year after year from grants funded from TACF’s endowments.

In fiscal year 2007-2008 there were 184 charitable grants and scholarships awarded to local charities and scholarship-seekers from these 34 endowed funds totaling $153,815.00.  To learn how to apply for a grant, click on the “Grants” icon at the top of the page.

Established in 1986, as the first affiliate of the Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF), TACF serves Miller, Little River, Sevier, Howard, and Hempstead Counties in Arkansas and Bowie County in Texas.  ARCF was among the first Community Foundations to be recognized for having organizational and financial practices that are in accordance with the Council on Foundations’ National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations.
